The Holman Leadership Academy has several students who are in great financial need for tuition assistance.  You can foster the exceptional education of one of our leaders by either:

  • creating a one time or annual scholarship in your name.  You will be listed on our website and in our future publications and at events as a sponsor!
  • sponsoring a student monthly with $10 or more.   This money will be applied to their monthly tuition and fees. You will receive report cards, thank you notes and other information to continuously learn about the progress of the student you sponsor.

We also are praying for sponsors for some of our programs including:

$1,000 Lobby Project: Students will travel to Springfield, IL to meet with legislatures for our lobbying project. They are learning how regular people and politicians fight for a cause and how they can personally influence our states laws.

Total needed: $7,000 for transportation, lodging and meals.

$500 Author's project: Students will write and self publish their own stories in writing class. One hundred copies of the books will be printed and the students will then experience various ways that authors sell their work such as through bookstores, the internet and the media.

Total needed: $1,000 for book printing and advertising expenses.

$250 Media project: Students will create a talk show on local politics and economics. This monthly show will be video taped and aired on Chicago's CAN TV. Students will also create a public service announcement about education and have it posted on a local billboard.

Total needed: $1,000 for video equipment and production fees.

$100: Business project: Students have created their own products and business plans. They held a business plan competition and are in the process of organizing their business for the winning product. All students in their “classroom corporations” will produce and sell their products as they learn about business, economics, politics, and history.

Total needed: $400 to purchase product materials and advertising costs.

$50: Science supplies: Students are learning about how science and technology influences their lives. They are also learning about human and animal behavior and are in the process of learning about Pavlov and conditioning as they train our pet rat, Pipsqueak, to run a maze and perform various tricks for treats.

We need your help to teach the future!  If you would like to participate in one of these great opportunities to support our students then please contact Alisa Scott at (773) 443-5323 or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
