Provide an individualized education, that will appropriately challenge each student's abilities, allowing him/her to advance through the curriculum at a pace and capacity consistent with the student's knowledge and motivation. Create an atmosphere where risk and exploration can occur. Create an understanding of how what is taught is used in the real world. Promote academic achievement, character development, self-reliance, self-confidence, self-understanding, and independent thought and action. Provide students with valuable educational tools, including critical problem-solving skills, abstract and higher level thinking skills, good study habits, time management, and ultimately healthy social and spiritual development. Provide a small class to allow for personal attention to each child's needs. Constantly evaluate student outcomes by using appropriate criteria through self-assessments, parent assessments, authentic assessments and criterion referenced and/or standardized testing instruments in order to promote their optimal development.
